This position can be based in Mountain View or San Bruno, CA, or in New York, NY.
The area: Marketing
The Google Marketing team is responsible for developing our vertical marketing strategies in support of Google’s sales and operations efforts worldwide. The team applies the same level of creative originality to Google’s marketing activity that the company has applied to online search and advertising.
The role: Director of Marketing, Media and Platforms
Directors of Marketing are interested in learning more about one of the most cutting-edge technology companies in the world. As a Director, you are a senior marketer who is also passionate about Google. You will be globally responsible for marketing the company’s Media & Platforms products (YouTube and Display) to end users, partners and customers. Our approach is to embrace the strength of the products and pace of innovation to drive marketing programs that are entrepreneurial, data-driven and respectful of our users. This is a high-adrenaline role requiring deep media and/or technology consumer marketing experience in a leading media and/or consumer technology company. The Director of Marketing – Media and Platforms will work closely with our sales, product, PR and partnerships teams to assure that we have consistent marketing plans and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage directly the Media and Platforms global (40+ countries) marketing strategy, team and budget, and serve as an active member of the Global Media and Platforms management team.
- Develop marketing plans to end users, partners and customers; be accountable for driving plans through to implementation.
- Develop marketing programs to drive growth of Youtube users, to show Youtube as a premier choice for online video content in leading countries around the world.
- Drive uptake of the Display and Youtube advertising products by our incumbent advertiser base, while aiming to grow our share of the overall market through creative marketing programs coupled with a strong business partnership.
- Lead the development, internal alignment and execution of Google’s global brand strategy for Youtube and Display solutions, and lead our external market presence.
Requirements:
- MSc/MBA degree required or equivalent work experience.
- Significant experience in media and/or technology consumer marketing in a leading media and/or consumer technology company.
- Solid marketing and management experience, some international experience preferred.
- Superior business sense, problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior executive leadership.
- Proven track record of results, demonstrated accountability for achieving individual and shared goals.
- Demonstrated capacity for leading a high performing team, building a high commitment work environment and engaging with senior management.
YouTube Strategy and Operations Associate – New York
This position can be based in San Bruno, CA or New York, NY.

The role: YouTube Strategy and Operations Associate
The Strategy and Operations team plays a critical role in making YouTube more successful. We work directly with the YouTube management team to identify and address opportunities and threats to our business, ensuring we grow long-term revenue and profits as effectively as possible, while continuing to delight our community. This involves structuring problems, analyzing data, making recommendations, and driving implementation/operations, working closely with YouTube’s Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance, and HR teams. The Strategy and Operations team is a part of the YouTube Business Development and Partnerships team.
The role of the Associate will be to provide the project management skills, analytical “horsepower”, and business judgment to support strategic and tactical initiatives globally. Google has very high performance standards and everyone is expected to work aggressively to achieve challenging goals. You have demonstrated top quartile performance in an analytical environment, such as management consulting or financial analysis, and have great familiarity with the consumer internet and/or media industries. You are a self-starter who can work in a rapidly-changing industry, tolerate ambiguity, lead cross-functional teams through influence, and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze key business drivers, competitive environment, opportunities, trends, and operating metrics.
- Execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data into actionable insights.
- Analyze research data and synthesize raw information into insights and recommendations.
- Prepare presentations and clearly communicate findings from initiatives to senior management and to the broader organization.
- Own part of larger initiatives both on an on-going basis and on an ad-hoc basis.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree preferred in technical or business fields with a strong academic record or equivalent work experience. Recent MBA or graduate technical degree a plus.
- At least 1 year relevant experience in management consulting, finance, corporate strategy, or a similar environment. Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.
- Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills and impeccable business judgment.
- Superior Excel financial modeling skills and proficient PowerPoint skills. Familiarity with database query (e.g. MS Access), statistical analysis, and/or SQL coding preferred.
- Experience in or passion for the consumer internet and media industries necessary.
- Fluency in English, with additional languages a plus.
