Facebook has announced that will take full control of the ads in the social network. Apparently they had an exclusive agreement with Microsoft allowing the latter control over the ads (Microsoft invested $ 240 million in Facebook for 1.6 percent of the company in October 2007). Now Facebook will take control of the ads. However Microsoft will continue selling Facebook-search ads in text format on the site, and will also integrate its search engine, Bing, into Facebook.
It looks that we might be witnessing the begging of key alliances between internet players. I believe that this won’t be the first one.
