Position Summary:

A&E Television Networks is seeking an ambitious, goal-oriented digital marketer to grow traffic to each of 10+ consumer facing online sites. With specific focus on history.com, mylifetime.com, biography.com, and aetv.com, this individual will manage day-to-day SEO and SEM efforts while assisting in the development and execution of a broader digital audience development strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO)
• Increase the visibility of AETN web properties on key search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask) through the execution of SEO best practices
• Serve as the primary liaison between AETN and external search engine optimization agency
• Project manage SEO initiatives – defining, documenting and tracking requirements through each phase of development from inception to launch
• Partner with AETN digital site producers, editors, designers, and developers to ensure that agency recommendations are implemented effectively for all assets
• Proactively anticipate and resolve critical SEO issues, identifying long term solutions to reoccurring challenges
• Influence the content development process by surveying the natural search landscape and pinpointing areas of opportunity for large scale traffic growth
• Assist with link building, social media, online PR and digital grassroots efforts that benefit SEO
• Educate coworkers on SEO best practice guidelines and partner with external agency to delivery SEO training sessions
• Track performance of SEO investments by monitoring keyword visibility and organic traffic to each site

SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING (SEM)
• Increase ROI of AETN pay-per-click (PPC) Search Engine Marketing investments by growing traffic to digital properties across all key metrics (video views, page views, unique visitors, registrations, game plays, etc)
• Supervise external Search Engine Marketing agency, reviewing and approving ad creative, segmentation strategy, bid management, etc.
• Partner with multiple internal departments (Digital Media, Consumer Marketing, Ad Sales, Consumer Products, etc.) to ensure that SEM campaigns align with broader organizational priorities
• Track performance of SEM campaigns by analyzing ROI at the domain, ad group and key phrase level
• Drive campaign optimization by testing new strategies and reacting to performance data

OTHER
• Assist with the development of a broader (non-search) digital audience development strategy
• Prioritize audience development opportunities by conducting cost benefit analyses
• Benchmark performance of online marketing campaigns against key competitors
• Integrate search marketing campaigns with other online and offline tactics by facilitating meetings and information exchange with other members of the marketing team
• Support the planning, execution and tracking of display and rich media campaigns

Required Qualifications:

• 7-10 years marketing experience, with 5+ years in a digital media environment
• Expert level knowledge of white hat SEO techniques
• Comprehensive understanding of each element of paid search (bid management, keyword targeting, quality score optimization, copy writing, landing page selection, etc.)
• Proven ability to “move the needle” through the creation, implementation and management of large scale search campaigns
• Extremely detail oriented with exceptional organizational and project management skills, accustomed to multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skill set, capable of analyzing and reacting to traffic trends – working knowledge of the following tools: Omniture, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Dart, Hitwise and ComScore
• Familiarity with html, CSS, Flash, MRSS, CMS tools, IA best practices, and the technical components of online video / gaming
• BA/BS. Masters in marketing, business or a digital field a plus.
• Extraordinary communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Passionate about search, marketing, and digital entertainment with finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends
