Cox Media Merges Editing, Production Duties For Its Major Daily Newspapers
With advertising and circulation revenue continuing to spiral downward in most cases, newspaper publishers continue to look for ways to cut costs. That appear to be on the mind of Cox Media Group, which publishes six dailies, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as it consolidates editing and production operations for four of its papers, the AJC reports (via ACES).

Amazon’s China Story Continues: Planning For Kindle, Kindle Fire Release?
Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) appears to be ramping up its activities in China. Today a report notes that the company is in talks with the Chinese government to retail its Kindle products, including e-readers in the country. If true, that would make China the first market in Asia to get a local Kindle product. The report today follows the news from yesterday that Amazon had officially rebranded its China operation solely under its own name, and taken a new Chinese URL in the process.

MSN’s Scott Moore Departs To Join Yell Group As Chief Digital Officer
Scott Moore has left his post as partner and executive producer of Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) portal MSN to become chief digital officer of Yell Group, the UK-based owner of the Yellow Pages and other local directory services. He’ll be based at a new Yell office to be opened in Seattle, WA. Once it’s set up, that office will serve as the central hub for the company’s digital operations.

Nielsen: Nearly Half Of Americans Are Watching Online Video
One of the reasons online video is the fastest growing ad segment is because nearly half of all Americans are watching some form of streaming, according to Nielsen’s Cross-Platform report. But online video is still a long way off from attracting half of marketers’ advertising dollars.
