New York Games Conference September 30th…

Ridiculously priced but, hey, it is local… this conference has both interesting speakers and some panels that sound like they’re worth attending.  Of particular note: the monetization tracks’ discussions of business models, microtransactions, and other things you’re dying to hear about from those actually doing it.

Registration is here…

Located way downtown in Battery Park, they’ve got a hotel deal with the Ritz-Carlton for you if you need a room.  Seriously, someone need to remind these guys there’s a recession on.  Or maybe the games industry is just that good…

Local Search company Yodle.com closes $10mm round

Local New York local search company Yodle.com announced that it had closed a $10 mm Series C financing today, reflecting VC confidence in 700% growth last year.  They are reporting 5,000 customers and TechCrunch is esitmating $30 mm in revenues (as percentages of tiny numbers are misleading to say the least…)

Worth checking out for two reasons:  cool local company and some open positions, although not much on the MBA level front.
