Updated: Exclusive: AP Branches Out, Adds Pulse To Its Digital Mix
Over the years, the Associated Press has made a profile for itself by syndicating its news across thousands of newspapers both in the U.S. and abroad. Now as newspaper readers move to new platforms like tablets to consume their news content, the AP wants to make sure it is syndicating there, too. Today it is announcing a deal with one of the bigger tablet news-reading apps, Pulse, to run AP text, video and photographic coverage via Pulse. It will be the first time the AP will appear within the service.

Colarusso Jumps From Bloomberg TV To Reuters
Dan Colarusso, who has held top editorial posts at the NY Post, Condé Nast’s Portfolio and briefly at Business Insider, is leaving his post as managing editor of Bloomberg Television to join rival Reuters (NYSE: TRI) as the news service’s global head of programming.

Amazon Prime Kindle Lending Library Opens For Business—With A Catch
Two weeks ahead of the shipping date for the Kindle Fire, Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) is adding more to its all-you-can-eat media buffet for Amazon Prime members. The $79 annual fee started as a break on shipping costs and earlier this year expanded to include free on-demand TV shows and movies. Today Amazon Prime does the same for e-books, offering more than 5,000 titles free to Kindle users with memberships. The catch?

YouTube Launches Massive Programming Push
Google (NSDQ: GOOG) confirmed one of the most open content secrets around late Friday: YouTube is partnering with programmers to launch dozens of new YouTube channels—as many as 100—with thousands of hours of exclusive premium content in a bid to create a digital-age cable universe with global reach. CW Cuts Another Streaming Deal: Current Season Shows To Hulu, Hulu Plus
Gossip Girl is headed to Hulu Plus. On the heels of a past-season, library deal with Netflix (NSDQ: NFLX) that could be worth as much as $1 billion (if absolutely everything goes right), Warner Bros. (NYSE: TWX) and CBS (NYSE: CBS) will put current season episodes from the CW on Hulu and Hulu Plus. The five-year pact ups Hulu’s bragging rights as the digital hub for current primetime programming from broadcast networks and increases the appeal of subscription streaming service Hulu Plus.
